Service Description

Discover one of Costa Rica's most breathtaking natural wonders on this full-day shared adventure from La Fortuna. Travel in a comfortable air-conditioned vehicle to Tenorio Volcano National Park, home to the world-famous Río Celeste, known for its incredible turquoise-blue waters created by a unique natural phenomenon. Your adventure begins with a guided hike through lush rainforest, where your naturalist guide will help you spot wildlife such as sloths, monkeys, toucans, frogs, colorful birds, and tropical plants along the trail. The approximately 5 km (3.2-mile) hike takes you to the spectacular Río Celeste Waterfall, the Blue Lagoon, bubbling volcanic springs, and Los Teñideros—the magical point where two crystal-clear rivers merge to create the river's famous sky-blue color. Once back outside the park and after a little drive we'll arrive at our national swimming pool at Rio Celeste where you can refresh, and we'll share delicious local pineapple. After the swim we will have a delicious traditional Costa Rican lunch prepared with fresh local ingredients at a nice little, local soda. With the help of the guide there is a good possibility of seeing wildlife.
